Pat started in show
business as the son of vaudeville performers, and from childhood his
credits as singer, announcer, actor and producer have spanned three
continents. Pat has been a Capitol recording artist, National
Radio Programmer of the Year, and the first to be honored by the entire
Los Angeles record industry at a Hall of Fame Dinner.
Pat is proud of his radio shows, hit records, network appearances and
movie roles. But the most unique achievement of his career has to
be the 35-year TV legend called the "Wallace and Ladmo Show".
With partners Bill Thompson and Ladmo Kwaitkowski, he shared seven
Emmys and over 10,000 daily shows, making it the longest-running
children's program in TV history prior to its farewell program in
January 1990.
Pat McMahon's radio and television talk shows have been important public
forums. His speaking engagements range from elementary, high
school and college students to professional and parent groups. His
creative company, The Idea Factory, is responsible for important
commercial, industrial and educational programming that has had a
profound impact on the national audience. Pat's fund raising
activities for local charities are numerous.
Some of the special awards Pat has received, in addition to his seven
Emmys, include the Phoenix Metro Broadcasters Copper Mike, the Valley
Leadership Man of the Year Award for Communications, and Gold and Silver
Medals for Talk Show of the Year in the International Radio Festival
competition which includes 27 countries.
As one of the most popular and highest-rated talk show hosts and
commentators on Newsradio KTAR Phoenix, Pat continues as the long-time
favorite of thousands for his balanced and objective handling of his
many famous guests and listener call-ins on all the subjects and issues
touching every aspect of our lives.
